On 22nd November a group of Year 12 and 13 Art and Design students visited the School of Art at the University of Wolverhampton.
The iconic School of Art building on Molineux Street is the home of expert practitioners, who explore the beauty of form and materials and solve practical challenges in subjects rooted in a contemporary curriculum. With this in mind the visit involved a discussion about the importance of the creative industries which was followed by a ‘Careers within the Creative Sector’ seminar from the Head of Careers and guidance. After lunch the students took part in a creative workshop which was led by University lecturers. The workshops were based within Fine Art, Fashion and Textile Design and Visual Communication.
The visit not only equipped the students with a wealth of knowledge about the Creative sector but will also enrich their own working practices within school.
