Year 8 Sprint to Success in Black Country Games

On Tuesday 12th June, 8 talented Year 8 Heath Park Students became the first girls from the school to compete for Wolverhampton in the Black Country Games.

Amelia Steadman, La-Taunya Samuels, Taliyha McIntosh-Holness, Anoop Dhillon, Lejla Krasniqi, Tia Aulton, Joelle Djayep and Spendy Owusu competed in both track and field events against the highest performing athletes in the whole of the Black Country.

The girls performed with passion and professionalism throughout the competition and are determined to return next year.

A fantastic day was had by all and the girls were an absolute credit to the school.
