A Morning With Jay Blades
‘Out of darkness cometh light’. It’s the motto of Jay Blades’ adopted home of Wolverhampton.
Famous on TV screens as the country’s favourite furniture restorer, on shows such as The Repair Shop and Money for Nothing and also most recently took part in Celebrity Master Chef; Jay Blades is proving that he is an adaptable and creative individual who is quickly becoming a well-known television personality.
Jay is one of the UK’s best furniture designers as well as an award winning community leader and founder of Jay & Co, a social enterprise that works with young people in the community.
On Monday 29th April Heath Park hosted “A morning with Jay Blades”.
A selected group of Year 12’s was invited to the new Art & Media building where Jay spoke about his creative journey, his business and television appearances. He also spoke about ambition, success and making the right choices and was extremely impressed by their artwork.
It was a truly inspirational morning which our students enjoyed and engaged in. Many commented upon how much they had been inspired by Jay’s story.
We look forward to welcoming Jay back to Heath Park again soon.
