Year 11 students and their parents are invited to Heath Park on 11th October 2018 from 4:30pm – 7pm.
All students in England are required to remain in some form of education until the age of 18. This can be school, college, and apprenticeship or other employment with an element of education. The Futures Evening is designed to provide all the information needed to make positive next steps.
There will also be a presentation at 5pm, repeated at 6pm, from Mrs Stroud (Head of Sixth at Heath Park) on life in the Sixth Form, what is offered beyond the curriculum and applications process.
You will be able to access information and advice from Central Sixth, the Post 16 collaboration between Heath Park, Moseley Park and Coppice Performing Arts School. This allows us to support all students to follow the pathway of their choice and to successfully move on to further study or the world of work at 18. We are very proud to say that our outcomes at Post 16 are one of the highest of any school in Wolverhampton and that many of our students go on to the best universities in the country (including Oxford and Cambridge) and the highest quality employment with some of the world’s best companies (including Rolls Royce).
All students attending the Futures Evening will be able to choose a revision guide FREE OF CHARGE. They will also be given a revision pack of materials which is very useful as they settle into their revision.
Heath Park is working with a range of partners to ensure that all students make positive choices for the future. Aspire to HE will be attending the evening, as will NCS, both of whom offer incredible opportunities going forward. Wolverhampton College and Nova Training have also been invited to attend to provide information on their pathways.
For those unsure of their pathways going forward, it is essential that they explore all avenues available to them. Careers guidance interviews will be available on the evening.
Please be mindful that parking is at the rear of school on the main staff car park and we would ask that for parents to be considerate of local residents.
We look forward to welcoming you to Heath Park and supporting our Year 11 in next stage of their education.
