Guest Speaker Julius Smashes Rotary Club Presentation

Year 13 Julius Whyte is pictured with Mrs Stroud Head of Sixth Form, his Mum, Rotary President Mandy Poonia and Rotarian Terry Close at the Wednesfield Rotary Club evening on November 27th at Linden House in Wolverhampton.

Julius was invited as guest speaker and gave a fantastic presentation to the club members in thanks of their generous sponsorship enabling him to attend their RYLA project. Julius was selected from Heath Park Sixth Form to participate in the Rotary Club Youth Leadership Award which takes place over a weeks residential in the summer holiday. The RYLA award is a leadership development programme run by Rotary for young adults and aims to help those selected discover their potential and develop skills needed to be leaders within their community, career and everyday life.

We are very proud of Julius’ achievements at school, both the Rotarian’s and the course tutors spoke very highly of him and from his presentation it was clear how much he had benefited from the week. Julius explained how it has helped him develop skills as an individual and adroitly interact with people he doesn’t know.

At school we have noticed that Julius is far more confident and outgoing and is keen to take advantage of more opportunities. He is currently applying for university and aims to study for a sports degree from September next year.
