Half Term Activities For Parents and Young People
YMCA Black Country Group are putting on some half term activities for parents and young people aged 10-16. They will be running a programme for families known as Engage, Grow, Achieve. This will run from Monday 18th – Wednesday 20th Feb at 10am – 3pm.
The Engage, Grow & Achieve programme enables participants to build emotional resilience by building stronger relationships and utilising coping mechanisms to overcome barriers that prevent people from achieving their goals and ambitions. Using innovative team building activities the programmes breaks down barriers, helps individuals to overcome fear and anxiety about progression and builds self-esteems, confidence and self-belief.
The aim is to develop essential life skills such as communication, problems solving, decision making and encourage punctuality, commitment, motivation and stability, all essential to develop emotional resilience.
The workshop is aimed at families, and we encourage parents to come along and take part in the activities with their children. However, if parents are unable to attend, we would still like your children to come along and enjoy the workshop.
The workshop will start at 10am and finish at 3pm. However, there will be members of the group available at Eastfield Community Centre, Eastfield, Wolverhampton, WV1 2QY from 9am – 4:30pm should parents need to drop their children off earlier/pick them up later.
