Online Safety – Replika
Replika is an online Artificial Intelligence ‘companion’ – it’s designed to ‘talk’ with you, to learn how to respond to you from your own comments and seems to become more and more like you.
It seems to us to be potentially a very dangerous thing, a ‘fake friend’ who will learn to support and validate whatever you say to it and could lead young people down some dangerous rabbit holes. There is a more detailed guide about Replika here -we’d ask you to talk to you children about it and discourage them from using it.
