Performing Arts Students Enjoy Thrilling Matinee Performance
46 Students from different Performing Arts subjects ventured to London on Wednesday 12th July. The students visited Pineapple Studios to take part in a series of workshops with professionals who have been, or still are involved in the production of Wicked in the West End.
Some of the students engaged in a singing workshop with the former Musical Director of the stage production. Comments from the workshop leaders were extremely positive, with one saying how amazed she was at the talent the students possessed and insisted that they should be involved in a school choir. The drama workshops were equally successful with students fulling partaking in the tasks with a workshop leader who studied at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
The students then attended the matinee performance of Wicked at the Apollo Theatre which was incredibly spell-bounding. Some students even shed tears at the performances displayed onstage.
Miss Pearson said: “Everyone gained an insightful and profound appreciation of the Performing Arts sector and fully enjoyed the magic of the show. The day was a wonderful experience for all of the staff and students involved and we are eagerly looking forward to the next show!”
