General Catering Assistants

£20,441 – £20,812 FTE
Post 15 hours per week – £7,128 – Actual Salary

Heath Park are looking to appoint a Kitchen Assistant to join our ready-established catering team. This position is part-time, working Monday to Friday 15 hours per week, serving high volumes of students, staff and visitors throughout the day.

Job Summary

  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Help prepare and present freshly cooked food to a high standard.
  • Adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.
  • Adhere to a high standard of personal hygiene.
  • Be assertive to ensure that food is served promptly as directed by the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Prepare adequate portion sizes as directed by the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Daily clearing up and cleaning of the kitchen
  • Help with any other duties at the request of the Kitchen Supervisor.
  • Be flexible to cover other local sites within the trust, if needed.
  • Remain professional towards our students, adhering to safeguarding procedures.

It is preferred that the ideal candidate has worked in a similar environment working with various dietary and allergy requirements e.g. (Nursery/School/Retirement home etc). Also, with a good knowledge of documentation required within the catering industry. The successful candidate will need to hold a level 2 in food safety. This can be completed upon a successful interview.
