Year 12 Sport Students Visit Newman University for Sports Learning Day

Seventeen students Year 12 Sport BTEC students visited Newman University in Birmingham this week for a Sports Learning Day.

Newman University prides itself in providing excellence but on a smaller scale than many universities, allowing for a more personal experience for students and bespoke work placements on every course. Our students had the opportunity to meet current undergraduates and experienced sessions from an undergraduate sports degree.

The students took part in sessions on Sports Biomechanics, Sports Psychology and Sports Coaching giving them a tangible taste of being a university student. They came away with advice and guidance on entry requirements and the variety of sports degrees on offer at Newman.

“It was reassuring to learn that all their sports courses have a common first year and I could change in my second year onto a different course than I originally applied for, if my interest had developed in a different direction” Year 12 student
