Teaching Staff – Job Background Information

Learning Support Assistant

NJC Scale 2/3 – £17,007 – £18,672 FTE, pro-rata to term time only

30 – 37 hours per week

Heath Park and Coppice Performing Arts School are secondary schools within the Central Learning Partnership Trust (CLPT). We are unrelenting in our determination to provide the highest quality learning experiences for our students and so this is an exciting opportunity if you are an ambitious, high calibre professional.

We are seeking to appoint compassionate, enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants who have the experience and expertise to enhance the learning of different groups of pupils and support some of our most vulnerable learners to access all areas of the curriculum and enrichment despite the challenges they face.

The successful candidate will need to be:

  • a self-motivated individual and dedicated to supporting both groups and individual students
  • able to effectively work as part of a team, forming positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents alike
  • have high expectations of themselves and others
  • committed work in a school that is committed to continuous school improvement and provides outstanding quality teaching and learning

Applicants must have:

  • Level 2 qualifications, A* – C, including English and Maths is essential
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good time management skills, be well organised and competent

In addition but not essential:

  • Past experience of working in a school environment would be an asset but is not a pre-requisite
  • Some experience of working with children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs or Autism Spectrum Disorder would be ideal but not essential

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Working with individual pupils, groups or whole classes
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to communicate key information, plan, deliver and support pupil provision
  • Liaising with parents/carers and external agencies

The Central Learning Partnership Trust offer exciting opportunities for graduates with further training and possible access to the initial teacher training programme, candidates will ideally hold a good Honours Degree, which is desirable but not essential

Teacher of Photography

Heath Park School is seeking to recruit a dynamic and inspiring Teacher or professional to teach   Photography   to   CLPT   students.   Applications   from   Newly   Qualified   Teachers, Instructors and Industry Professionals are welcome.

We are looking to employ an inspirational Teacher, instructor or industry professional to build upon an already outstanding subject area and to further benefit the learning experience of our young people.

Candidates should have a record of outstanding practice, either in post or in training, knowledge of course  specifications and a capacity to excite  students with  a  range  of  innovative  teaching and learning strategies.

The faculty prides itself on a forward thinking and progressive approach to arts education across all  key stages.  You will  be passionate  about your  subject  and will  have  the capacity to support students to enjoy and achieve. You will be expected to teach predominantly key stage 5 students and  will  also  have  an  opportunity  to  teach  within  key  stage  4.  The  ability  to  also  teach Graphics/Digital Design would be very useful to the department but is not essential.

A purpose built School of Art, Media and Photography is due to be opened before December. This unique  facility  will  offer  the   suitable   candidate   to   develop   the   course  further  and  extend opportunities further for students.

We are looking for an individual who can offer:

  • experience and expertise with a wide range of photographic digital and analogue processes and techniques
  • an  indepth  knowledge  of  digital  SLR  cameras,  photographic  studio  set  ups  and  well established in adobe photo shop
  • an understanding of current industrial and commercial photographic practice
  • a degree in photography or relevant industry qualification / experience
  • confidence in darkroom practice
  • ambition,  energy  and  drive  to  provide  our  students  with  engaging,  highly  creative  and challenging Photography lessons
