Apprentice Laboratory Assistant

We are looking for a dynamic and inspiring Apprentice to join our highly successful team at Heath Park School. The successful candidate will be well organised, have good communication skills and work well as a team and individually motivated.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting the technician with the day-to-day operations
  • Practical preparation, including materials, equipment, stock, standard solutions and specimens
  • Working within the three subject disciplines
  • Ensuring that equipment is in good working order and that laboratories, preparation areas and storerooms are in a clean, safe and orderly condition
  • Taking an active role in ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are met

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 GCSEs including Math and English at Grade 9-5 or equivalent.  Applicants will be required to attend College one day per week.

Careers Coordinator

Full Time
Term Time Plus 4 Days (to support at exam times)
Salary :  NJC Scale 5  £21,589 – £23,836 (£18,426 – £20,343 pro rata)

We are looking to appoint a highly skilled, confident and committed careers coordinator to continue the outstanding work in CEIAG at Heath Park.

The role of Careers Coordinator is to work with the Careers Leader to:

  • Promote and administer the school’s work experience programme in Year 10 and 12
  • Support the work of Connexions with identified students
  • Work with departments to secure meaningful employer engagement
  • Liaise with Aspire to HE to ensure all opportunities embraced
  • Develop an effective careers library to support positive destinations
  • Work with colleagues to deliver sessions to groups of students on employability and successful applications
