Black Pound Day
In support of Black History Month, Heath Park would like to encourage the local community to support, Black Pound Day. Black Pound Day is a campaign that aims to create the biggest marketplace and directory to spend black in the UK and Europe. Founded by UK music artist, Swiss from the So Solid crew, Black Pound Day (BPD) is about increasing the visibility of Black businesses by highlighting the importance of spending Black to facilitate change and socio-economic inequalities affecting the community.
Black Pound Day encourages consumers to spend with Black businesses on the first Saturday of every month in a bid to unite all cultures and ethnicities to support Black business and strengthen the Black economy.
You can visit www.blackpoundDay.uk to access a directory of businesses in the local area, if you can’t spend, however, then you can promote, leave a review, advocate, or tell a friend and also hashtag #BlackPoundDay when engaging online.
We would encourage all local businesses that represent Black businesses to sign up.
We always strive to strengthen links with local businesses. If you feel your business could support our students at Heath Park by offering talks maybe about your entrepreneurial journey, aid students with their employability skills, offer potential workplace visits or even work experience we would love to hear from you: kimberley.soulsby@heathpark.net
