Heath Park Students Get Royal Approval

Students at Heath Park have been using art to highlight the importance of conservation and environmentalism, much to the delight of Prince William.

After a discussion about pollution in class, Miss Whelan saw an opportunity to get students engaging with the topic through the medium of art. Students created some fantastic artwork which prompted Miss Whelan to write about the experience in the National Society for Education in Art and Design magazine.

A copy of the article was then sent to Prince William by a family member of Miss Whelans. Prince William was thrilled to hear about the discussions taking place at Heath Park and how students are highlighting the impact of single use plastics on the environment and wildlife through amazing artwork!

We are incredibly proud and would like to celebrate our students that are engaging creatively to incredibly important issues happening in their world today. Well done!

Below you can find Miss Whelans article and also the letter from the Duke of Cambridge.
