Wimbledon Rewards Trip
On Wednesday 6th July we were lucky enough to take 8 student on a PE rewards trip to Wimbledon. These students have consistently gone above and beyond for the PE Department this year, volunteering and representing the school in an array of different sporting events.
Tyler Russell, Shai Sanderson, Harmony Burrell, Darcey Coates, Victoria Corbett, Indejah Allen-Hall, Daniel McCambley and Maisie Bennett have shown dedication to the PE department and role models in upholding the schools core values.
The students had tickets to court 2 and were able to watch the Men’s doubles quarter final which went all the way to the 5th set with the British player coming out on top. They also watched the Womens doubles quarter final, and a legends invitation game. The atmosphere was great all the way through, with the students getting to experience all the ups and downs of tennis.
Not only did the students get to watch some brilliant tennis. They also got to fully enjoy the grounds of Wimbledon. They went on a tour of the museum, had some of the famous strawberries and cream and two of the students even got to meet a tennis legend.
Shai and Tyler (Year 7) plucked up the courage to go courtside, where they were lucky enough to get their tennis balls signed by British tennis legend Greg Rusedski.
What an amazing experience it was for all our students!
