Year 11 Students Explore Engineering Futures at Jaguar Land Rover
On Monday 26th January, a selected group of Year 11 students visited Jaguar Land Rover’s state‑of‑the‑art Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC) in Wolverhampton for an exclusive ‘Try Before You Apply’ Experience Day.
The visit offered students unique, first‑hand insight into the world of advanced manufacturing and the pathways available through JLR’s highly competitive Level 3 Manufacturing Apprenticeship, due to open for applications in February 2026. As applicants may only submit one apprenticeship application per cycle, the day provided invaluable guidance for those considering this prestigious route.
Throughout the day, students:
Explored JLR’s cutting‑edge engineering and manufacturing facilities
Learned about the role of a maintenance engineer within the business
Met current and former apprentices who shared their journeys and experiences
Gained a deeper understanding of the skills, expectations and career opportunities available at JLR
Students represented the school exceptionally well and engaged confidently with JLR staff, demonstrating curiosity, ambition and professionalism. The experience not only broadened their understanding of engineering and technology careers but also helped them make more informed decisions about their post‑16 and post‑18 futures.
Heath Park School remains committed to providing meaningful encounters with employers and high‑quality career insights, helping every student take positive steps toward their future aspirations.
