Calisthenics Programme Success
We are delighted to share the success of our newly launched Calisthenics Programme, which has been enthusiastically embraced by some of our Year 9 and 10 students. Designed to improve strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall physical confidence, the programme has already had a noticeable impact.
Calisthenics- focusing on bodyweight exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and core movements- has proven to be an accessible and engaging way for students of all fitness levels to challenge themselves and track their progress. The emphasis on functional strength and technique has not only boosted students’ physical fitness but also contributed to their discipline, focus, and teamwork.
Students have responded positively to the structured yet creative sessions, with all showing real commitment and motivation. Several have even begun incorporating calisthenics into their routines outside of school hours. From improved upper-body strength to greater mobility and coordination, the results are clear—and incredibly encouraging.
We are proud of the progress our Year 9 and 10 participants have made and look forward to expanding the programme further. A special thank you goes out to Aaron Lauder for his leadership and encouragement, and to the students for embracing the challenge with such enthusiasm and determination.
As a result of this programme, Lakhvir Bhakir (9NN) has been selected and sponsored as the first ever Wolverhampton Student to compete at the Calisthenics World Championships later this year.
