Year 12 Students Explore Sports Courses at University

During June, a group of Year 12 students from Central Sixth had the opportunity to visit both Birmingham City University and the University of Staffordshire to explore the wide range of sports-related courses available in higher education.

On 11th June, students attended Birmingham City University’s Sport Explore Day at the Alexander Stadium. During the visit, they toured the impressive facilities and took part in sessions covering Sports Nutrition and Performance Analysis, as well as gaining an insight into university life.

The following week, on 16th June, students visited the University of Staffordshire for another Sport Explore Day. The programme included interactive workshops in Sports Therapy, Sports Psychology, Talent Identification, Strength and Conditioning, and Biomechanics. These hands-on experiences gave students a real understanding of the diverse opportunities available within the sports industry and higher education.

Both visits provided valuable insight into potential future pathways and allowed students to experience university-level learning first-hand. Throughout the trips, the students represented Central Sixth impeccably and were praised for their enthusiasm, engagement, and willingness to participate in all activities.
